Why call us

Fast Response When Trees Become Dangerous

Richmond gets its share of weather. Summer thunderstorms, the tail end of hurricane season, and the occasional ice storm all leave the same thing behind: trees that are split, uprooted, hung up in a neighbour, or resting somewhere they should not be.

A damaged tree is a different job from a healthy one. The wood is under tension, the weight is unbalanced, and a limb that looks settled can release the moment it is cut. This is the work that most needs a trained crew and the right rigging, and it is work we do regularly.

Scope of work

What our hazardous and storm-damaged trees service covers:

Know before it fails

Simple safety steps that help protect you and your property.

Keep everyone well clear of the tree, including pets  do not walk under a hung-up limb

If any part of the tree is touching a power line, treat the line as live and call the utility company first

Do not attempt to cut a tree that is under tension or resting on a structure

Photograph the damage from several angles before anything is moved your insurer will want it

Start to finish

How it works

Four stages, read like the rings of a cut trunk from first call to a tidy yard.

Call or text

Storm calls get priority. Tell us what has happened and send photos if it is safe to take them.

Rapid assessment

We assess the tension in the wood, the load path and the safest sequence for taking it apart plus what needs protecting underneath.

Controlled removal

The tree comes down in planned sections, rigged and lowered rather than dropped, so nothing else gets damaged.

Clear and document

Debris is hauled away, the site is cleaned, and we can provide itemised documentation and photos for your insurance claim.

Questions we hear most

Frequently Asked Questions

Emergency and storm calls are prioritised over scheduled work. Call or text 804-334-8948 and we will tell you honestly when we can be there — we would rather give you a real time than an optimistic one.

Cover often applies when a tree has hit a covered structure such as a house, garage or fence, and less often when it has simply fallen in the yard. Every policy differs, so check with your carrier. We provide itemised invoices and job photos to support the claim.

A new or worsening lean usually means the root plate has failed, and a failed root plate does not recover. It is safer and almost always cheaper to deal with it before it comes down on something.

The utility company first, always. Lines are their responsibility and we will not work near an energised line. Once it is made safe, we handle the tree.

Both. The job is not finished until the debris is gone and the site is clear.
